Ethylene Propylene Diene Rubber (EPDM)
Ethylene Propylene Diene Rubber (EPDM) is polymerized by ethylene, propylene and a diene monomer². It is highly accepted in pharmaceutical, food and automobile industries. EPDM has high resistance to climate, ozone and sunlight. It is used at temperature between -50°C~150°C, the elasticity is great at low temperature. Due to its great resistance to high temperature, EPDM is also wildly used in washing machines and window sealing in buildings.
Advantage
- Great resistance to climate, ozone and water
- Excellent resistance to heat (up to 150℃)
- Applicable to polar solvent(alcohol, ketone and ethylene glycol), hydrochloric acid and caustic soda
- Great resistance to high temperature steam and great Impermeability to gas
Disadvantage
- Poor resistance to oil
- No resistance to aromatic hydrocarbon
